Hi, I’m Lewis Elliott.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC-D) in New York State. I provide in-person therapy in Midtown Manhattan and virtual sessions to clients across New York.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University and have experience working with children, adults, and couples. My clinical experience ranges from working in community mental health to private practice. I also work closely with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and Autism, supporting clients in understanding themselves more deeply and navigating life with greater clarity and confidence.

My Approach

Every person comes to therapy with their own story, questions, and hopes. Because of that, there is no single “right” way to do therapy. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, depression, or simply feeling stuck or uncertain, my aim is to offer a space where you can feel safe, accepted, and supported as you explore yourself and your life.

I view psychotherapy as both an opportunity and a process—one that allows for deeper self-understanding and, through that, the possibility of healing, growth, and a fuller way of living. My therapeutic style is warm, direct, empathetic, and deeply relational. You can expect our work together to feel genuine, connected, and collaborative.

My approach is rooted in Existential-Humanistic therapy. In simple terms, this means we focus on understanding your lived experience—your relationships, values, meaning-making, and sense of purpose. Together, we explore questions of identity, freedom, responsibility, and growth, while also making space for the very real challenges of being human, such as uncertainty, suffering, and loss. This approach honors your capacity for self-awareness and choice, and supports you in moving toward a more authentic and meaningful life.

Relational Work

Working relationally invites there to be a strong, safe, and empowering relationship between therapist and client — thus creating a great platform for change and inner exploration.

Additionally, it helps clients understand their relationships with themselves and others.

Lasting impact

Working this way allows for deeper work, impacting the individual on a meaningful level, promoting lasting impact.
